Current Mood: Very excited - looking forward to our new Podcast in July!
About Me: I'm 28 years old and hail from the countryside of Nottinghamshire in England. I'm currently in my seventh year of working for a government agency, but in April I embarked on a professional three year course in web design and developement, which is something I've wanted to do for ages.

Outside of work and studies, FFXI is my main passion, but I also enjoy metal music - mainly black metal, but not just that. I also like Within Temptation and Nightwish, and cheesy hair metal too.

I recently joined up with Seshamaru to assist in running Vana'diel Profiles, and am very pleased to become his co-host for our forthcoming Podcast. This has enabled me to speak with Aniero from LimitBreakRadio, and Steak and Fusionx from PetFoodAlpha (as part of our Who's Who in Vana'diel articles), so I've been able to fulfil a few dreams of mine!

I'm also a big fan of Johnny Depp movies and 80s cartoons.
Character Name: Kixxi
About My Character: My main job is THF, a job that I've loved for years, but took forever to level up. It was worth it, and I'm currently devoting time to merit it and work on optimising my gear.

I also have WHM levelled (it was my first job) and COR to L75, and my SMN is L53, but that can be tough to solo at times.
Favorite Music: Marduk, Burzum and "pre-Dusk..." Cradle of Filth
Favorite Book: Angela Carter's "The Bloody Chamber & Other Stories"
Favorite Movie: The Others, Minority Report, Arlington Road
Server: Phoenix
Nation of Allegiance : Windurst

Heyas Kix!

Sesh and I killed Charby last night as a warm-up for your jump to Phoenix.... A little birdie told me it might happen tomorrow?
Feedback from Kixxi: Yo Neve! That has to be a sign! I wish I could make the jump tomorrow! Gotta just give Teila that little nudge!^^

Yep that proves it, I'm old. I say that because I have never heard of the bands that are on your profile page.
Feedback from Kixxi: Nah, they're not hair metal ya see! But I also like Poison, Skid Row, GNR, Danger Danger, older Bon Jovi etc. Awesome stuff.

FFXI - Windurst Mission 8-2 Solo Queen Cardian NM Fight

Went as a L75 THF/NIN to this fight. Put up SNK and clicked the cracked wall to spawn the two Cardians - a RDM and a PLD. Both are L72 NMs.Pulled the PLD and soloed it away from the RDM (it doesn't link upon pull), but you will need an Evasion build to solo this.Took off my shadows easily, and hit a critical of around 250. Followed up by a Deal-Out of nearly 400, and within minutes I was in two-figure life. With an Evasion build it was much better but still tough. At lower life, she spams Cure IV and uses Bludgeon and Deal Out regularly.I had to use a Vile Elixir, Icarus Wing and spam Bloody Bolts. Food used was a Sole Sushi - probably would have been better with a Tavnazian Taco.I suppose it's not a proper solo, as after a few minutes the RDM Cardian depopped allowing me to only fight one of the two to complete the mission.Actual fight was 17mins long, but due to size restrictions on YouTube (plus who'd want to watch this for 17mins?), I've chopped out 10mins.^^Soundtrack is "Bloody Gaya Fulfilled" by ChthoniC, taken from the 2007 album "Seediq Bale".
FFXI - Dirtyhanded Gochakzuk NM Fight

Duo'd this nasty NM in Davoi as a THF/NIN with a DNC/NIN. It was an easy NM until it did one of its -ga III spells which, if hit, one-shotted us.After several attempts, we managed to beat him.Prior to video we cleared the area of all Orcs from the Monastic Cavern exit to the front doors of the monastery, and the video transition is simply me zoning the links whilst the DNC pulls the NM.Soundtrack is "You're the Best" by Joe "Bean" Eposito, taken from the 1984 soundtrack "The Karate Kid".
FFXI - Captain Morgan's Revenge - A Corsair Movie

SPOILER WARNING: Contains footage from start through to finish of COR quests and ToAU missions.Spent many months travelling Vana'diel to make this movie to promote the COR job. I was inspired by the soundtrack (see below), as I thought the lyrics and feel of the song were perfect for the sheer cheesiness of the COR job quests. The movie does not tell the story of the ToAU job quests or the ToAU missions, but rather tells a hybrid story about Qultada and Luzaf banding together to defeat Alexander and Yazquhl.I've done my best to keep it exciting and fast-paced by ensuring the clips match the music either through feel or through actual lyrical content, and I've made sure the ending is climactic! Please ignore the chat log at the bottom of the screen as it has no bearing on the movie itself. It was also filmed before the Vista graphics update in June hence the occasional jerkiness.Still, I hope you enjoy this movie. I feel there is no better song to sum up the Corsair job in FFXI.Soundtrack is "Captain Morgan's Revenge" by Alestorm, taken from the 2008 album "Captain Morgan's Revenge".
FFXI - Southern Shadow NM Fight

Having had Eastern and Northern Shadows in the space of minutes, it took me several hours to pop this chap.He was harder than the other two, if only for the fact he has tier III -ga nukes, and his Stonega III did 450 damage to me, which is a lot for a Taru.AGAIN, no drop, but it was fun nonetheless.Soundtrack is "Setite" by Illnath, taken from the 2003 album, "Cast into Fields of Evil Pleasure".
FFXI - Northern Shadow NM Fight

Within minutes of me finding the Eastern Shadow I managed to encounter the Northern Shadow in, funnily enough, the Northern Chamber.Very, very easy this one, but he hit hard.Again, no drop.Soundtrack is "Funeral Fog" by Mayhem, taken from the 1993 album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas".
FFXI - Eastern Shadow NM Fight

Thinking I'd gone up to the ground floor of Fei'Yin and would therefore be able to simply run south to the exit, I failed to realise I was in a semi-isolated part of the palace which was home to the four Shadow NMs.As a result I found the Eastern Shadow unclaimed and uncamped, lurking in the southern chamber.Had no idea how tough he was, but knew he dropped a good bow, I pulled him and fought him very easily as a L75 THF until near the end when I couldn't for the life of me get my shadows up.Took down half my life in a short while but finished him off with a weaponskill.Soundtrack is "Transylvanian Hunger" by Darkthrone, taken from the 1994 album, "Transylvanian Hunger".
FFXI - Goliath NM Fight

As part of my Fei'Yin NM hunt, I managed to tab onto Goliath through the floor whilst I was upstairs camping Western Shadow.I ran downstairs to find him in a tiny room (hence the close-up video). He was pretty big, and his accuracy seemed rather high as my shadows went down regularly, but he was as easy as pie.I got full drops, which included the Slab of Granite. No idea what it's for.Soundtrack is "The Levelling Dust" by Marduk, taken from the 2007 album "Rom 5:12".
FFXI - WotG Quest Light in the Darkness Quadav BCNM

After weeks of doing the preceding quests bit by bit my LS mates and I finally got round to doing this BCNM.Pretty easy. In fact, very easy. When you appear in the arena, you will be surrounded by three or four groups of Quadav, but they won't aggro you.If you're L75 like we were, pulling an entire group won't be too bad; they'll miss most of the time, but what I failed to notice at first was that one Quadav in each group had a different name. Most are Sapphire Quadav, but one is a Sapphirine Quadav, which is the "leader" of each group and can use Benediction.I was a tad embarassed at how long it took me to finish off my first Quadav (bring food next time, Kixxi!), but it was easy nontheless.Apologies for the "jerkiness". Since the nVidia Vista graphics card update FFXI has been very smooth, but when using Fraps it jerks from time to time.Soundtrack is "Last of the Wilds" by Nightwish, taken from the 2007 album, "Dark Passion Play".
FFXI Alsha Fight

Second Mannequin Battle
FFXI Promyvion-Mea Boss Fight

This was taken last night after the new update. I decided to help some friends out who wanted to do it and the whole thing seemed easy as pie.
FFXI Snoll Tzar NM Fight

This is our first Snoll Tzar attempt after the new June 07 update - it's a total walkover now!
FFXI Dark Spark NM Fight

Duo fight against DS, WHM/SMN and RDM/NIN.
FFXI Promyvion-Mea Boss Fight Fail

FFXI ToAU Gessho NM Fight

This morning's attempt at the ToAU fight in Talacca Cove against Gessho.
FFXI Eba NM Fight

Found this NM whilst hunting Subligars and decided to take it on with a balanced party of six. We wiped miserably!!
FFXI Chains of Promathia 6-4 One to be Feared - Part 1

One of our successful attempts at the first of the three Airship fights. Setup was NIN, THF, DRG, BRD, WHM, BLM.
FFXI Korroloka Leeches NIN Quest

To unlock NIN, players must defeat these Leeches. The fight is designed for a party of L40 players, but we were L75 WHM and L50 PLD.
FFXI Dropping Like Flies L30 BCNM

New Record obtained with PLD and two SMNs.
FFXI Rank 2.3 Black Dragon Fight

This is the video of a recent fight against the Black Dragon in Balga's Dais that we did for a Linkshell member the other day. We won the fight easily, but...
FFXI Chains of Promathia 8-4 Dawn Promathia Part 1

Beat Promathia with my Linkshell last night - took a few films and this was one of the successful "Promathia 1st Form" fights.
FFXI Blue Mage AF Hat Nepionic Soulflayer NM Fight

I was asked to come along as a WHM and help a 75 BST and a 75 SMN with this fight but I wasn't needed at all. The two duo'd the fight without an ounce of difficulty.
FFXI ToAU Mission 15 The Black Coffin / The Ashu Talif Fight

Video of tonight's run on the Ashu Talif; very easy and fun fight repeated to get some more Linkshell members through to Alexander.
FFXI WotG Mission 2 The Tigress Stirs / War Lynx Fight

Recent Linkshell fight against the War Lynx for Wings of the Goddess Mission 2. Over too quick!
FFXI - Baronial Bat NM Evisceration Fight

Kixxi, Unicorn ServerRather quick fight against the NM Baronial Bat which unlocks the WS Evisceration. I spent more time concentrating on trying to get a good screenie than on the fight so I wasn't playing my best!!
FFXI Antican Praetor NM Fight

We ran into this chap today whilst searching for Girtablulu and had heard of NMs able to wipe parties in minutes. We decided to take this on with great caution, but found out this was a very weak easy NM! Uploaded purely for the benefit of my Linkshell, nothing to shout about here! :)
FFXI - Bodach NM Asuran Fists Fight

Very awkward fight with just five of us, and no tank. Hard to get a good camera angle due to the small room and the water being above my head!Soundtrack is "Prison of Eternal Torture" by Michiru Yamane, taken from the 2003 soundtrack to "Castlevania: Lament of Innocence"
FFXI - Gotrunks & Danyella's Wedding Video

Edited video of Gotrunks & Danyella's wedding, filmed in Southern San d'Oria during February 2008.Soundtrack is "Sleeping Sun" by Nightwish, taken from the 2005 compilation, "Highest Hopes - The Best of Nightwish"
FFXI ToAU Mission 22 Shield of Diplomacy / Khimaira 13 Fight

Rerun of ToAU 22 against the Khimaira 13 HNM. Went tankless (again) for a laugh to see if we could get another LS member nearer to ToAU 44 but it didn't go quite according to plan...
FFXI - RotZ ZM 8 Return to Delkfutt's Tower Kam'lanaut Fight

It was about high time I got Sky to be honest so decided to go with a couple of my LS members to fight Kam'lanaut.Bit of an anticlimax really. Went with a BLU, SAM and WHM. Light Blade was absorbed by shadows each time and the one time shadows went down it missed!Soundtrack is "Hunger" by Spectre General, taken from the 1896 Soundtrack, "The Transformers - The Movie"
FFXI - CoP Al'Taieu - Messing About in Sea

Just a simple video of a RDM and me messing around in Al'Taieu, or Sea as it is more commonly known.Soundtrack is "Battle Theme" by Nobuo Uematsu, taken from the 2002 soundtrack "Final Fantasy X".
FFXI - Trompe L'Oeil NM Temple of Uggalepih Fight

On the way to get Carby Mitts, we decided to pop this chap for a member of the LS who needed it.Simple fight with little danger, just a bit of fun really.Soundtrack is "Elemental Tactician" by Michiru Yamane taken from the 2003 soundtrack "Castlevania: Lament of Innocence".
FFXI - Crimson-Toothed Pawberry NM Fight (Carbuncle Mitts)

My Linkshell's fourth spawning on the Carbuncle Mitts last night in the Temple of Uggalepih. We did the first and second runs around a year ago and it was much harder back then, but now we're all grown up this was nice n' easy!^^Done as PLD, BRD, BST, SAM and WHM.Soundtrack is "Escapist" by Nightwish, taken from the 2008 EP "Bye Bye Beautiful".
FFXI - RotZ ZM 12 The Mithra and the Crystal Ancient Vessel

Yesterday's brief fight against the Ancient Vessel in the Quicksand Caves. BLU, SAM and WHM.Soundtrack is "Magic Touch" by Aerosmith, taken from the 1897 album "Permanent Vacation".
FFXI - Shiva Prime Avatar Fight

After the victory against Titan Prime, we decided to go to Fei'Yin to fight Shiva.Again, the party consisted of COR, WHM and SAM. Rolls used were Magus' Roll (all), Gallant's Roll (SAM and COR), and Evoker's Roll (for WHM).Video was rather long, so cut midway to make it match the length of the song.Soundtrack is "Ice Queen" by Within Temptation, taken from the 2001 album "Mother Earth".
FFXI - Titan Prime Avatar Fight

Tonight a member of our LS wanted to get her Summons for her SMN she had begun levelling so on a whim we decided to go to the Quicksand Caves to fight Titan. As it wasn't really prepared, I didn't have many bullets or even my elemental cards but the latter weren't needed.Party consisted of COR, WHM and SAM. We did have a DRG but she didn't have the Tuning Fork so couldn't get in.Rolls used were Magus' Roll (all), Gallant's Roll (for SAM and COR), and Evoker's Roll (WHM).Soundtrack is "The Gods Made Heavy Metal" by Manowar, taken from the 1996 album "Louder than Hell".
FFXI - Ramuh Prime Avatar Fight

Continuing our run of Prime fights, tonight began with Ramuh Prime. I had to make do with Iron Bullets (no Steel in stock) but at least this time I remembered to bring some Earth Cards with me!Rolls used were Magus' Roll (all), Gallant's Roll and Samurai Roll (COR & SAM), and Evoker's Roll and Scholar's Roll (WHM).Video was cut in two parts to shorten the length of the long footage (8min total I think) and to fit with the length of the song.Soundtrack is "Strike Like Lightning" by Mr. Big, taken from the 1990 soundtrack "Navy Seals".
FFXI - Ifrit Prime Avatar Fight

The fourth of our Avatar fights was against Iftit, my favourite Avatar.Rolls used were Magus' Roll (all), Gallant's Roll, Samurai Roll and Chaos Roll (COR & SAM), and Evoker's Roll and Scholar's Roll (WHM).Soundtrack is "Steal Your Fire" by Gun, taken from the 1992 album "Gallus".
FFXI - Garuda Prime Avatar Fight

On a roll we decided to continue and get the final two Primes, so Garuda was next.Wasn't too confident because she likes to use Whispering Wind, but it was Iceday and she wasn't too bad.Rolls used were Magus' Roll (all), Gallant's Roll, Samurai Roll and Chaos Roll (COR & SAM), and Evoker's Roll and Scholar's Roll (WHM).Soundtrack is "Wild is the Wind" by Bon Jovi, taken from the 1988 album "New Jersey".
FFXI - Leviathan Prime Avatar Fight

The final Prime, Leviathan, was beaten tonight just before I had to log out.I've really enjoyed trioing these Avatars with my Linkshell friends; we've had a lot of fun and the selected song for this video sums everything about us up.Rolls used were Magus' Roll (all), Gallant's Roll, Samurai Roll and Chaos Roll (COR & SAM), and Evoker's Roll and Scholar's Roll (WHM).Soundtrack is "Crazy Nites" by Danger Danger, taken from the 1991 album "Screw It".
FFXI - Bloody Coffin NM Fight

I had totally forgotten I had flagged this quest until someone reminded me to do it. That said I headed on over to K-12 of Misereaux Coast and popped him as a L70 THF.Little did I know this crab was actually a RDM! The NPCs secretly knew what they were doing silencing Crabs and Beetles! :) He had insane defence, and I hit for around 6 or 7 a pop, and the whole fight took over 12 mins.He had Enparalyse to begin with, followed by Enwater later on, and when he did hit me I was surprised at how much damage he did - around 60 a pop.Stupidly, I forgot to turn off the game music when I recorded this, so as not to have two music tracks overlapping, I've had to mute the whole game sound, including sound effects, which I think spoils it somewhat, but such is life. Also, I apologise for the jerking. FFXI hasn't behaved this way since I last had a problem with my connection some time back, so I don't know the cause of it. It's not too bad though.Soundtrack is "Abandoned Castle (The Curse of Darkness)" by Michiru Yamane, taken from the 2005 soundtrack "Castlevania - Curse of Darkness".
FFXI - Glyryvilu NM Fight

I was going to blink-tank this as my THF, with a BRD using double Mambo and a BST with Carrie for backup, but Carrie ended up tanking and the fight turned out much easier than I thought it would be.Soundtrack is "Opposing Bloodlines" by Michiru Yamane (?), taken from the 1995 soundtrack "Castlevania - Dracula X".
FFXI - Nasus NM Fight - Tuning Out

Helped a RDM with her Nasus fight for the quest "Tuning Out". Five very easy NM Wasps in the Yuhtunga Jungle.Soundtrack is "One Hot Country" by The Outfield, taken from the 1991 soundtrack "If Looks Could Kill" (aka "Teen Agent").
FFXI - Corsair Genkai / Limit Break 5

Starring Kixxi in "How not to do this fight".Despite being L75 already, I decided to do this LB for fun. Entered the BCNM and equipped my Opo Neckace, taking four Sleeping Potions to bring me to 100% TP.Used RR Hairpin and a Blink Band, and also used a Tav Taco for the defence.Having concentrated so hard on making sure I'd done all this, and got the correct Quick Draw ready, I actually forgot to use my Phantom Rolls before engaging. I mean, really, that's just bad.Went in and did Ice Shot for 198 damage, followed by Hunter's Roll for the RACC.I then hit Qultada with a Slug Shot for circa 500 and used an Icarus Wing so I could do another straight away.Despite near-capped Marksmanship, Hunter's Roll, Precise Belt, Deadeye Gloves, Corsair's Frac, Corsair's Tricorne, Spectacles, Pahluwan Crackows and two Behemoth Rings, the Slug Shot missed causing me to have a moment of panic as he began wailing on me.I used Wild Card for TP, let loose another Slug for around 400 (poor ; ;) but I was unable to defeat him.Looking back I should have probably tried to sleep him with Light Shot, but really I should have buffed properly at the start, used Sole Sushi as food instead of Tacos, and brought a Stoneskin Torque too.To be continued...Soundtrack is "Don't Say it's Over" by Gun, taken from the 1994 album, "Swagger".
FFXI - Bukki NM Imp Fight - The Die is Cast

Possibly the most remote place on Vana'diel? Took awhile to locate this desolate corner of Arrapago Reef and the fight was a bit of an anticlimax!Seemed to spam Deafening Tantara but no sign of Abrasive Tantara (thankfully) and no sign of any super-lethal spells like the ones that come from the Heldiva Isle Imps.Soundtrack is "Dracula Castle" by Michiru Yamane, taken from the 1997 soundtrack "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night".
FFXI - ToAU Mission 29 Puppet in Peril BCNM Fight

Tonight's fight against Lancelord Gaheel Ja, one of my favourite ToAU Mission fights.Went in as MNK, SAM, WHM and COR and it wasn't a pushover. We got hit down hard, Batterhorn doing around 900 damage and Blazing Angon around 500+ AoE to nearby members.Soundtrack is "Cross a Fear" by Naota Shibata Project, taken from the 1994 album "Perfect Selection - Dracula Battle Vol. I".
FFXI - Poroggo Casanova NM Fight - Prince and the Hopper

Fought this little chappie the other night as part of a ToAU NM run with the Linkshell. Very easy fight - his minions barely hit above 10 (on me, a Taru WHM) and the Casanova went down in around a minute.Soundtrack is "Prologue" by Michiru Yamane, taken from the 1997 soundtrack "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night".
FFXI - Moment of Truth Mamool Ja BCNM

Final fight of the night was this fun BCNM against three Mamool Ja NMs, who seemed more concerned with beating up the NPCs than us.They're not hard at all, but you have to be quick, or else they will finish off the NPCs before you can kill them, and this ejects you from the BCNM.Soundtrack is "Nothin's Gonna Stand in Our Way" by Spectre General, taken from the 1986 soundtrack "The Transformers - The Movie".
FFXI - BLU Corse Spell Memento Mori

Although some of you might not think this small fight filmworthy, I wanted to capture it because I am somewhat fascinated by these mobs.I've often thought FFXI to have many "cute" monsters (regardless of how poweful they are) but this is not one of them. The way they glide; the way they stare down at you; the way they slowly swipe at you - I find them rather sinister.I feel the music is rather fitting too. It's a rare track from the Sega Saturn version of Castlevania - Symphony of the Night and not on the CD.Soundtrack is "Chaconne C Moll" by Michiru Yamane, taken from the 1997 soundtrack "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night".
FFXI - Nihniknoovi NM Fight

I filmed this short n' sweet fight mainly to prove to a couple of LS buddies this NM actually existed.I had heard that some people had gone 0/100 and beyond in trying to spawn Nihniknoovi by clicking on the FallenEgg icons around La Thiene Plateau. It did take several hours accross two days to pop him, but if it helps, he popped after I picked up my third Bird Egg from clicking on the FallenEgg icons.Soundtrack is "The Birdie Song" by Black Lace, taken from the 198_ album "Action Party!"
FFXI - BLU Pudding Spell Amplification

Just like my recent Corse video, I have no real reason to post this other than the fact I have rarely ever seen a Pudding mob before let alone fought one, so I decided to capture it on film whilst trying to assist a fellow LS member obtain Amplification.Soundtrack is "Where the Slime Live" by Morbid Angel, taken from the 1995 album "Domination".
FFXI - WotG Quest A Manifest Problem Yagudo BCNM

Ever wanted to cull an entire flock of Yagudo in one fell swoop? Now you can with your very own quest in Ghoyu's Reverie, "A Manifest Problem".As the Yagudo sneak under Fort Karugo-Narugo to launch a surprise attack on the Windurstians fighting for their lives on the surface, I led a small crack force of troops to stop Yaa Laku the Austere and his horde from reaching their goal.War has never been so much fun.Soundtrack is "Intro Theme" by Richard Joseph and Jon Hare, taken from the 1993 soundtrack "Cannon Fodder", followed by "To the Castle" by David Whittaker, taken from the 1989 soundtrack "Shadow of the Beast".APOLOGIES - It seems that during uploading I have lost the vocals to the first song and I have absolutely no idea why this has occurred!! Have tried uploading multiple times but to no avail. ; ;
FFXI - Goblin Wolfman NM Parade Gorget Fight

Used a Goblin Drink on the Scrawled Writing in Oldton Movalpolos to spawn the Goblin Wolfman for the Parade Gorget. Had to spawn him twice to get the drop.I had heard that this was rather tough, so I used my Evasion build and a Jack o' Lantern but he only hit me once (around 150 damage!).Video was six or seven mins long so cut down to smaller size.Soloed as a THF 71, very easy.Soundtrack is "Edge of a Broken Heart" by Vixen, taken from the 1989 album "Vixen".
FFXI Finding Faults Troll NM

Duo'd this quest, "Finding Faults", tonight as a 72 THF with a 75 RDM. The NM we had to evaluate was a Troll Speculator, a PUP with a PLD Automaton. My job as THF was to kite the Automaton round whilst the RDM soloed the PUP and it was hard. I don't have capped Evasion and even with my Evasion build, the Automaton stole all my shadows quickly (sped up with frequent casting of Dia) and because I didn't have Utsusemi: Ni, it made it all the more harder to kite.At first things went fine, but around halfway through I lost the knack, and could not get my shadows back up and as the RDM was Petrified, I had to zone into Halvung. When this happened, the Automaton went after the RDM, and because she had to Cure me back up, it became hard to peel it off her, so I ended up having to melee the Automaton instead of kite.We won, but only just, surviving with a tiny amount of life left; the only weakness we noticed was that the Troll moved sluggishly without Gravity, so we reported this back to the NPC in Whitegate.Soundtrack is "Trollhammaren", "Fiskarens Fiende" and "Ursvamp" by Finntroll, taken from the 2004 album "Nattfodd".
FFXI - Worr the Clawfisted NM Fight

I recorded this fight half asleep after trying to get a Coffer Key for a SMN friend on my LS in the Sea Serpent Grotto. He had just got his key and I was thinking about logging out when I noticed this happy chappie lurking in a corner near some regular Sahagin.Had to try to kill the normal Sahagin as quickly as possible so I could concentrate on the NM alone, but as I was tired it wasn't my best attempt (ha do I make excuses often LOL?).I was quite glad when my LS buddies found me and joined in as this NM wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, but we got the drop, a L60 Rare/Ex MNK Hand-to-Hand weapon.Soundtrack is "Amaranth" by Nightwish, taken from the 2008 album "Dark Passion Play".
FFXI - Noble Mold NM Fight

Whilst farming for Coeurl Hides and Meat I tabbed accross this Funguar NM tucked away in a little corner of the map.I had never heard of this NM, and despite the ease of the monsters in the zone to me at L73, I have learnt the hard way that NMs can still be very tough to beat, so I popped a Reraise Earring mid fight just in case.I was in no danger of getting a beating, but Silence Gas did a surprising amount of damage (over 300)!This is supposed to be a very rare NM, so it's a shame I didn't get the drop, a Rain Hat, but it's always fun to fight an NM regardless!Soundtrack is "Pine Forests" by Korpiklaani, taken from the 2005 album "Voice of Wilderness".
FFXI - Pahh the Gullcaller NM Fight

Following on from Worr, we soon saw this lovely lass all by herself and decided to say hello.Pahh the Gullcaller is several levels weaker than Worr the Clawfisted and doesn't share the same high HP or nasty 2hr so isn't too bad.We got the drop, a blue Polearm called a Calamar.Soundtrack is "Creatures of the Night" by Kiss, taken from the 1982 album "Creatures of the Night".
FFXI - Fingerfilcher Dradzad NM Fight

I had been meaning to do this fight for so long but had kept forgetting about it until a PLD in my LS reminded me to get the Deathstone and Angelstone for the new Gobbiebag quests. This fight forms part of the quest "Claws of the Griffon", whereupon the Orc you release from his prison flees to the forest and tries to attack young Exenmille.Turns out the "smooth talking" Elf isn't really an elf at all, but a nasty criminal!^^Fingerfilcher Dradzad (oh dear) missed me as a L75 THF most of the time, but when he hit, he hit me for around 110.Uses a move called Berserker Dance, which seems to give him a mini-Hundred Fists.Soundtrack is "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson, taken from the 1988 album "Bad".
